During the academic year 2017-2018 we are going to organise a series of meetings on the thermodynamics of strongly coupled open quantum systems. These mini-symposiums will be held in rotation at the University of Nottingham, the University of Manchester, Imperial College London, and the University of Exeter, and are sponsored by the London Mathematical Society. Their aim is to create a strong UK-based network on quantum thermodynamics. The first meeting in the series will take place on November 27th 2017, at the University of Nottingham. See all the details at the Open Quantum Meetings website.
The ITAMP-Harvard Quantum Thermodynamics Workshop (Cambridge, MA) was a wonderful meeting. Quantum thermodynamics is in excellent health as theory and experiments start to converge. You can watch the talks in the ITAMP YouTube channel. Also see my talk below!
Co-organising the Fifth Quantum Thermodynamics Conference (a.k.a. QTD5, at Oxford) has been a great pleasure! With over 160 participants, this was the last meeting of the COST Action MP1209: "Thermodynamics in the quantum regime". I would like to thank to all of those who have contributed to the success of the conference and, ultimately, to build a strong interdisciplinary community around quantum thermodynamics. I can't wait until KITP Quantum Thermodynamics Conference in Santa Barbara!
